ZERO WASTE INITIATIVE
Create Opportunities. Transform Waste.
Zero Waste Initiative (ZWI) is a project launched by Wartoaster Industries to repurpose plastic waste product into refined products. In partnership with the BPI Recycle Upstate (REUP) Program, ZWI transforms plastic waste products into refined products to divert resources from ambiguous recycling processing chains as detailed by NPR above. REUP allows donors to provide raw recycling materials in-kind, which are then used to educate and train students in recycling technologies. Participants will receive hands-on instruction from Wartoaster on the light manufacturing process and produce refined goods from mechnical designs.
Recycle Upstate (REUP) Program.
Recycle Upstate New York ("REUP" NY) is an environmental justice program administered throughout the Capital Region of Upstate New York. REUP transforms recyclables sourced from donations and pickup services into diversified products and art supplies for Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) socially vulnerable populations. Cardboard, mattresses, and electronics are repurposed by students located in Upstate New York.
